Rulesets

Xeno Koi ships five rule sets. Pick one in Options → Ruleset. Every ruleset uses the same deal, turn order, and matching. They differ in how cards are scored and in when a Koi-Koi call is allowed.

The Options screen changes the ruleset for future matches. DEUS SUPREMUS always uses Yakuza rules.

"Replaced by sets" means the set score and the counted score are never added together. The higher one is used.

How the differences were verified

The table above matches the engine's scoring code. Rather than trust a summary, the team checked the rules against the code with random capture piles:

  • Tournament is Nintendo minus Viewings. Across random capture piles, Nintendo and Tournament only differ when a Viewing is present.
  • FudaWiki differs from Nintendo only in Goko and Sanko. Piles with fewer than three Brights score identically.
  • Yakuza scores identically to Tournament. The only difference is Dealer's Privilege, which pays the dealer on a draw.
  • KK-ADD-10 differs from the others on about 41–45% of random piles, so it is the most different rule set.

The live probe table generated from the game's own scoring code is below:
